La Hasil is a collection of two stories in a novel. Both are different novels but are connected in the end. It's the writing skill of Umera Ahmed that makes this novel so appealing to readers.
- The first narrative takes place in London, where Catherine and Mazhar met, married, and lived together for several years before divorcing. Catherine is a British girl who afterward converts to Islam and becomes Khadija Noor, the main character who represents faith, patience, and self-sacrifice. Mazhar, who appears to be a Muslim, is regarded as an Islamic guardian Mazhar returns to Pakistan with his child.
- The second story occurs in Pakistan and centers on Maryam, an attractive individual, and Zayd, who runs her own business after college. They met, got married, and later divorced. The plot deals around misbehavior and impatience between spouses after marriage.
La Hasil is a healing and regretful story. The story focuses on the cleansing of filth and follows the journey of morality and holiness. It’s a story that tells when someone finds the light by the Grace of the Almighty, then nothing else matters anymore. La Hasil is the story of forgiveness and fulfilling desires, selfishness, and learn lessons. You can love every bit of it!
Umera Ahmed's novels are classics. They force you to think about issues you never had before and change the way you think and analyze life. The same was the case with this one! You loved the spiritual journey and learned how you have to remain to thank Allah no matter what because He always knows the best, and we shouldn't “regret” for beloved things and never lose hope! As usual, there was a lot to learn from the novel written by Umera Ahmed.
